Over the years, through my research and writing, I have come to understand that the body does not suddenly break down. It communicates in stages.
First, it whispers. Subtle signs appear. Small changes. A little fatigue. Mild inflammation. Disturbed sleep. Digestive shifts. These early signals are easy to dismiss, yet they are often the most important.
If those whispers are ignored, the body begins to shout. Symptoms become clearer. Pain appears. Energy drops. Patterns repeat. What was once occasional becomes persistent.
If we still do not listen, the body eventually screams. A diagnosis is given. A label is applied. What we call disease is often the final stage of a process that began months or even years earlier.
The deeper question is not only what is the illness, but what shifted in the terrain that allowed it to develop. What changed in immune balance. What stressors accumulated. What dysfunction was left unresolved.
This terrain based perspective is central to the work I teach and write about.
